Hecate It is about how Hecate is the goddess of witch craft but most people view her as the ruler of the tree witches in act 3 scenes 5 Hecate appears before the witches and demands to know why she cannot meet with Macbeth. She tells them Macbeth will be back to know his destiny “and you all know security is mortals” she revels In these lines that Macbeths belief is that he is untouchable and this will ultimately result in his downfall.
Monologue but in modern language :
Don’t I have a reason to be angry, you disobedient hags? How dear you give me Macbeth’s riddles and discuss his future without me I am your boss and the source of you powers. I am the one who secretly decides what evil things happen, but you have never called me to join in and show of my own powers. And what’s worse is that you have done all of this for a man who behaves like a spoilt brat, angry and also hateful. Like all spoiled sons, he chases after what he wants and never thinks of anyone ells. But you can make it up to me. Go away now and in the morning meet ne in the pit by the river in hell. Macbeth will go there and learn his destiny. You bring you cauldrons, your charms, your spells and everything ells, I am about to fly away. I’ll spend tonight working to make something horrible happen, I have a lot to do before noon, I’ll catch it before it falls to the ground. When I work it over with the magic spells, the drop will produce magical spirits that will trick Macbeth with illusions.
