The play
The play that we are doing is called the way of the world and it is written by William Congreve and it is about a bunch a friends go round to lady Wishfort house and have a bit of natter but the Wishforts friend foible is going behind lady Wishfort back talking to her boyfriend when she shouldn’t be.
That is when Mrs Marwood comes round lady Wishfort’s house to tell her and she then plans to marry another man and then kill her ex so that it doesn’t look like she is involved. And that is when Mrs Fainall tells foible to stop doing what she is doing because she is going to get into trouble if she doesn’t
The character what I will be playing is Lady Wishfort she is a very upper class woman what is use to getting what she wants she is a fifty old widow who desperately wants a husband. She is afraid of her advanced age and pathetically try’s to retain the lost beauty.
William Shakespeare
For the characters it was very important to take your costumes of when you are in public because back them it was hard for people to realise that they were still normal people or still there character so that was especially bad if you were a witch because they could even get you hanged.
At Shakespeare globe back in there time they had the poor people at the bottom which were able to throw anything and properly anyone if they had the strength at the characters on stage they sometimes even peed on them and there was also a higher stand which was really good for middleclass people so that ment getting away from the stench pee and rotten veg.

Monologue
The play Macbeth is about three witches who predict Macbeth's future; it then plays on his mind when the first prediction comes true--he becomes Thane of Cawdor. Then he would go on to be king. He writes and tells his wife and they were both really excited. When Macbeth gets back to his castle, he and his wife decide that the only way he can become king is if they kill King Duncan. With power gone to his head, Macbeth slowly starts to 'lose the plot', as does Lady Macbeth.
The ccharacter I am playing in my monologue is Hecate the goddess of witch craft in the monologue Hecate appears before the witches demanding to know why she has been excluded from meeting with Macbeth because Hecate had a plan to kill Macbeth in cold blood murder.
So then she says that Macbeth will be back to seek his destiny and then that is when she will act on her plan to kill Macbeth. And how she plans to kill him is to produce magical spirits that will trick Macbeth with illusion and then he will kill himself.
There is many ways to play Macbeth such as this one that I’m going to show you now.
William Shakespeare
Shakespeare was a very successful play writer. He made two very popular plays called Henry the 8th and the two noble kings’ men but they both were rewritten by john Fletcher but also 36 of Shakespeare plays were divided into comedies because people got a bit sick of the old serious side of Shakespeare plays. William Shakespeare was very in detail in his plays because they never had lighting or props to support them so that ment that he couldn't create the scene well.
Most of his plays were based on magic and crafts because in Shakespeare time they believed that there was such thing as witches that actually bring me to my next subject.
i have found it verry hard to learn the play because one of the people chloe hasnt been hear so i have hadto sort of work around her but then i found iut that she has had some of her word cut out so it was verry hard for me towork around her :D xx

Today we were in the dance studio and we had to rehears on our monologues and I finished learning it then I thought now all I need to do is try and figure out how I am going to perform it , so then I thought well one thing is that there is someone in the room with me so I shouldn’t just talk to someone random because they wont know that someone is in the room with me.
Later Sonya asked us all to come in one bye one and perform our monologues and I performed mine and the feedback that she give me was: that I should pronounced the end of my word more because it is old English and it is hard to understand and that why I should pronounce it better she also said that I should think about how I am going to stage it and that I should have a pause in there somewhere and also slow it down a little.
Yesterday we were in the theatre and we were rehearsing out scenes in finding it so hard to remember the script because it is in old English
And I have allot to remember so I thought that if I get up and try and act out the scene so that the lines would sink in better, it helped allot then I decided to change the way I talk because I thought my character is quite old so that’s how I should come across.
I also thought that I should be quite demanding towards my maid

In the morning we also got told to sit down and discuss something’s to do with out scene so our group with Pip, Chloe and Demi so we thought that we should set down the costumes and the props and so we thought that even though it is set in Victorian times why dose it haft to come across as that I mean we have the old English but why cant we make it modern.
So we diced to make the costume quite modern as well as the room set out so the props that we needed is empty paint tins, a mirror, sheets and also brandy bottles.
